Rs.46 lakhs fine collected in Madurai city for face mask

MADURAI: A strict vigil is there for making the people follow face mask rule during this present COVID-19 restriction time. In the last three months- that is from 24th May to 24th August 2020, totally 27,018 persons were fined by the police in Madurai city and a total of Rs.45,77,400 was collected as fine from them for not wearing face mask in public places while coming out of their homes.

Madurai City Police Commissioner Mr.Prem Anand Sinha IPS has appealed to the people of Madurai city to wear face mask without fail in public places to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection. “Police are creating public awareness along with other departments and officials. COVID-19 prevention is our task now right now and public cooperation is essential for their safety and for the safety of every person,” the Madurai City Police Commissioner has said and Mr.Prem Anand Sinha had reviewed the precautions being taken by the police here on 25th August 2020.
