Mother Teresa: Saint, saviour and a noble soul

MADURAI: August 26th is the birth anniversary of an inspiring personality Mother Teresa, She worked for the cause of deprived people of India by coming from Albania. Through the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, her work across India, especially in then Calcutta city, for the leprosy patients, was a great noble task taken up by her.

As a fifth standard school student, I met her personally when she came to Guntur in Andhra Pradesh in the year 1980. A meeting was organized at Venkateswara Vigyan Mandir in Guntur where a fund rasing was done by her to help people affected in floods at that time. I went to the stage and met her. Indian government must remember and pay tributes to this great nun saint Mother Teresa. Born on 26th August 1910, Mother Teresa did lot of humanitarian works from Calcutta (City of Joy). Her works must be remembered forever. Tribute to this Bharat Ratna.
