MADURAI: The 33rd edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular “Mann Ki Baat” address on All India Radio, which was broadcast on June 25th 2017 (Sunday) has a special mention about one Madurai woman who benefited through the MUDRA scheme loan and e-business portal..
He spoke about Ms.Arunmozhi Saravanan of Madurai and how she benefited through the central government’s E-GEM e-market portal to sell her products by starting her own business with MUDRA scheme loan.
“I have to say about a Madurai woman Arunmozhi Saravanan. She got fund through Mudra scheme for own business after she came to know about E-GEM (government’s e-marketplace). I want to request my countrymen and women to visit E-GEM site. Not only she successfully started her business, she managed also supplied a few products to Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi for Rs.1,600. That is empowerment and happy that PMO bought from this Madurai woman,” Mr.Narendra Modi said.
Anyone willing to supply commodities/products – be it chairs, bulbs, dustbins, brooms etc- can register on E-GEM website, mention the prices, maintain quality and find buyers without middlemen.

“I came to know about Arunmozhi Saravanan’s sale of her products to PMO when she wrote to me about her taking loan from MUDRA scheme to start business. E-GEM eliminates middlemen. Like her, others also can register on the website to sell their products,” the Prime Minister said.
In the “Mann Ki Baat” on June 25th 2017, Mr.Modi spoke about the dark days of Emergency, how the International Day of Yoga was successful on June 21st and the latest feat of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists by launching satellites of other countries and making the country proud.
