CHENNAI: Highly reliable sources in the Indian Railways have said today that most of the manpower and other passenger service contracts in train routes and trains that are being privatized in the Southern Railway section are being given only to private companies in northern States citing ‘eligibility criteria’.
“In Southern Railway, now private trains are going to come very soon. But, all the private contracts are being given to North only. We have so many popular trains like Nellai Express, Pallavan Express, Vaigai Express and Kanyakumari Express etc. Why not the Indian Railways give private service passenger contracts to people from Southern States because these trains are in Southern Railway,” a few railway sources told ‘Lotus Times’ news website- www.lotustimes.org- on 11th August 2020.
