MADURAI: Masks have become an order of the day across India right now due to COVID. The message to masses from health and civic authorities in this Corona crisis period is to wear face masks with fail when they come out from their homes, to prevent virus spread.
Madurai-based Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from this temple city and Tamil Nadu BJP State vice president, has been working on a mission mode to reach the right message at doorstep by distributing masks to thousands of houses in Madurai South Assembly constituency area here for the past 45 days.
She could make a positive impact to raise mask awareness. By already distributing over 77,000 face masks, Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi is creating a ‘Mask Movement’ among the masses from Madurai.
“I am following the directions of our BJP State president Mr.L.Murugan and BJP National President Mr.J.P.Nadda. I was the MLA candidate from Madurai South Assembly constituency in the last elections…….I love the people of this area in Madurai South…..Madurai is my birthplace and what else is the most important other than supplying masks to every home as my leaders wanted us to do in Tamil Nadu? We are working silently to tell people about the importance of mask during this COVID-19 crisis. The support of BJP cadres, district office-bearers and all party functionaries in Madurai South besides the support of public service activists is very good,” Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi told ‘Lotus Times’ news website (www.lotustimes.org) in Madurai today- on 30th July 2020.
The BJP leader has urged the people to follow the mask rule and cooperate in containing the Corona cases.
