MADURAI: Following the orders of Tamil Nadu government and new Principal Secretary of Health Department Dr.J.Radhakrishnan, medical screening was done for passengers who came to Madurai by Vaigai Express train today evening at around 7.30 pm, on 13th June 2020.
This test was done for Corona control measures, sources said.adding that there were suggestions to the Madurai district administration that the fever test may not be required since passengers had boarded the train from Villupuram to Madurai and alighted at their destinations. But, the Madurai District Collector had instructed that fever screening must be done for passengers as a safety precaution to stop Corona infection spread in Madurai district.
Sources said that 600 passengers had booked for Vaigai Express today and of them 300 came to Madurai. Health Department officials screened them for fever surveillance, sources here added.
