250 QUARANTINE ROOMS READY IN MKU HOSTELS

MADURAI: The quarantine facility created in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) will be handed over to the Madurai district administration tomorrow evening (12th May 2020).

This will be used only to put people who are coming / returning to Madurai under quarantine as a precautionary measure for a specific number of days. (It is not for Corona patients). 

Mr.S.Pari Parameswaran, Director (Hostels) and Syndicate Member of MKU, said today that 250 rooms in the university’s men’s hostels are ready to be used for quarantine purpose. 

“In each room there will be two persons and the total is 500 beds. The district administration will use the rooms from 13th May as per the information we have,” he added.

Meanwhile, sources said that the first batch of people coming from other places, other States – will be taken to the quarantine facility in MKU campus day after tomorrow- 13th May.
