MADURAI: The construction work of proposed high-level bridge at Kuruvikaran Salai junction near Anna Nagar in Madurai city will start on 13th May 2020. A high level bridge is being constructed by Madurai Corporation in the place of existing causeway that passes through Vaigai.
A press release from Corporation here today (11th May) said that traffic and passage of vehicles has been stopped at Kuruvikaran Salai junction in view of bridge construction work. Temporary way has been created on the western side there for convenience of the public.
In order to ease traffic congestion and free flow of traffic, the Town and Country Planning Department has initiated the 200-metre high level bridge and corporation will soon complete the bridge construction work at Kuruvikaran Salai junction. The total cost for this is Rs.23.17 crores and the high level bridge’s width is 17.50 metre including walking path.
