MADURAI: Political parties and voluntary organisations have been distributing rice, vegetables and groceries to the families affected by Corona lockdown. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) too is reaching out to needy people in all districts in a big way to help the needy people who were badly hit due to total lockdown.
The BJP in Madurai district has added chicken to that list. On 4th May 2020, BJP had distributed rice and chicken to more than 300 families at Oomachikulam here.
“We have given five kilos of rice and raw chicken to each family in Oomachikulam-Sirudhur. Nearly 350 families received them and it was a good satisfaction for us,” Mr.S.Sankara Pandi, BJP Youth Wing State Secretary, has said.
Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan and a few party functionaries were present. Social distancing was maintained during the distribution, party cadres said.
