IN LOCKDOWN 3.0, POLICE MORE STRICT IN MADURAI (Video)

MADURAI: That the police in Madurai district are going to be more strict in enforcing the Corona lockdown rules on roads and public places was evident from the thorough checking of two-wheelers, cars and other four-wheelers at various parts in the city on 2nd May 2020.

Madurai district is now identified as Red Zone due to Corona positive confirmation cases and the third round of lockdown will see intensified screening and surveillance by police and health authorities.

Avaniapuram police had today carried out checks on several vehicles, stopped many cars and warned those who are ‘casual and roaming’ at Periyar statue in Avaniapuram and other places. Inspector Mr.Peddha Raj, sub-inspectors Kasi and Shanmugham caught hold of those violating the rules – helmet, seat belt, vehicle pass etc.

Fine was imposed for 50 persons today by Avaniapuram police. In grocery shops too, checking was done for social distancing. Some were let off after warning them.
