MADURAI: Perungudi area in Madurai has been totally sealed following a Corona Positive case confirmed for a traffic cop. The area is today – 27th April 2020- quarantined and restricted while health department staff are conducting tests for 41 persons with whom the infected traffic police person had contact.
The Corona infected person at Perungudi is admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai. Fever tests and blood sample tests etc are underway for the 41 persons including family members and friends in that area. The COVID infected person at Perungudi is working in Thideer Nagar here.
Perungudi area is sealed and surveillance has been stepped up there through CCTVs cameras. Residents are not allowed to come out of their homes since the area is sealed and quarantined. Volunteers have been deputed to take care of supply of vegetables etc to homes.
