Queen Mira School provides support to 200 needy families

MADURAI: Queen Mira International School in Madurai has joined hands with civic authorities to support needy families that are facing a tough time during the current lockdown period in the wake of COVID-19 battle.

The school management and faculty members have provided basic essential commodities to 200 families that are looking forward for support from donors and volunteers. Rice, dal, oil and other groceries required for 10 days were provided by Queen Mira International School (QMIS), Madurai, on 17th April 2020.

Mr.Abinath Chandran, Managing Director, QMIS and Ms.Sujatha Guptan, Director-Academics and their school team handed over the essential commodities to Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan.

“Giving and helping others liberates the soul of a giver. We took into account the appeal by Justice Nisha Banu of High Court Bench here and the suggestion by our school legal advisor advocate Mr.Samidurai to help struggling families in this difficult time. It is our duty,” the school has said in a statement.

Among those who were present yesterday include Ms.Josephine Anne Sheebha, Joint Director-Admin, Mr.Aravinda Pandian, physical educator of the school and Mr.Vaiyapuri, public relations officer, QMIS.
