MADURAI: A well known popular bull that won several prizes in ‘Jallikattu’ competition events for many years had died today early morning due to illness at Muduvarpatti village near Alanganallur in Madurai district.
Thousands of people belonging to Muduvarpatti and surrounding villages were in full tears and sobbed on hearing the death of this bull which belongs to Chellayi Amman Temple in Muduvarpatti.
This bull had won gold and silver coins besides several prizes in annual ‘jallikattu’ competitions during Pongal festival time.
Villagers, bull-tamers and a large number of men and women from nearby villages took part in the final journey.
