MADURAI: The distribution of Corona relief package and assistance as announced by the Tamil Nadu State government has commenced in Madurai today morning- 2nd April 2020- at various ration shops by following SOCIAL DISTANCING rule strictly.

Maintaining social distancing rule and gap, a queue was formed at ration shops  fair price shops in Avaniapuram, Villapuram, Meenakshi Nagar and Chinthamani areas. The same was done in other places in the city also. Distribution was done from 9 am to 11 am for only 25 persons as already announced. 

Rice’ ration card holders are being given given Rs.1,000 as cash assistance relief and also provisions – rice, dhal, sugar and oil – freely. The distribution, however, is as per allotted date and time for the ration card holders. 

They are not supposed to form crowds at ration shops. Strict TOKEN SYSTEM is being followed as tokens were distributed to eligible cardholders. The State government is also extending assistance relief to construction workers and others who are badly hit by Corona virus lock down and facing hardships due to loss of income.
