
MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Food Grains Merchants Association has come forward to raise Rs.50 lakhs through its members and contribute it to the State Government in its efforts of Corona virus prevention and relief activities to the people.
“In this difficult time, we will be with the Tamil Nadu Government and extend all possible help. As per the appeal made by Chief Minister Mr.Edapapadi K.Palaniswami, our association will raise a fund to the tune of Rs.50 lakhs with our members’ help and we will handover the amount to State government for Corona relief assistance activities through Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay during next week,” Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam, president, Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association (East Masi Street, Madurai), has said in a press release here on 28th March 2020.
He said in the press statement that the Tamil Nadu Government is now taking effective preventive steps to stop the spread of Coronavirus infection. He also informed that the association has been involved in supplying food grains to the district administration in its efforts to provide food to the deserving people who were hit badly due to the current situation.
