DMK MPs delegation meets Union Foreign Minister

CHENNAI: A delegation of DMK MPs comprising Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Members has today met the Union Foreign Minister Dr.S.Jaisankar in New Delhi and urged him to take steps for quick and safe evacuation of fishermen, students and others who got stuck in Iran, Bali and the Philippines because of travel restrictions imposed due to Coronavirus-COVID-19.

A press statement from DMK headquarters here today- 19th March 2020- has said that a DMK delegation of MPs led by Parliamentary party leader T.R.Baalu, and including Mrs.Kanimozhi and other MPs, met the Union Foreign Minister and submitted a memorandum about the plight of fishermen from Tamil Nadu who are seeking Centre’s help to return to their homes.

The MPs team took this important step as per the suggestion of DMK president Mr.M.K.Stalin and the DMK delegation had urged the Union Minister Dr.Jaishankar to arrange for flights to bring the fishermen, students and others back to the country.
