Good news for temple pond at Tiruparankundram (Video)

MADURAI: The ‘Saravana Poigai’ pond of famous Lord Murugan Temple in Tiruparankundram in Madurai will be clean and free from any sort of waste flowing in its water very soon.

For washing clothes and for devotees taking bath or holy dip in the temple tank here, new facilities are being created to prevent the purity of Tiruparankundram Temple Teppakulam pond.

At a cost of Rs.44 lakhs given from MP fund by Virudhunagar MP Mr.Manick Tagore, a new ‘Dhobi Kana’ is being created for which bhoomi pooja was held today at this place – on 9th March 2020.

Along with Member of Parliament Mr.Manick Tagore, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan, City Engineer Mr.Arasu and senior corporation officials were present at the ‘bhoomi pooja’ ceremony held today. The famous Tiruparankundram temple of Lord Subramaniaswamy, which is an abode of Lord Muruga, comes in Ward 96 of Zone 4 of Madurai Corporation.

The ‘Dhobi Kana’ facility for washing clothes is coming up in a space of nealry 4,500 square feet. Similarly, for devotees who want to take bath, steps are being taken now to construct a separate bathing place with 28 rooms and also there will be eight modern toilets.

For devotees who walk up for ‘girivalam’, a new pathway is being established for 2.5 kilometres at an estimated cost of Rs.96 lakhs, according to a press release from the Madurai Corporation here today. Rainwater Harvesting facility to store water in the temple tank is also being strengthened.
