Women ‘drive’ home a good message from Madurai (Video)

MADURAI: A powerful message of women empowerment was sent out from Madurai on International Women’s Day today- 8th March 2020- through a two-wheeler rally organized by Terapanth Mahila Mandal here.

Enthusiastic women in Madurai took part in the rally with a strong message that women are equal to men and a two-wheeler rally is one way of celebrating the Women’s Day in top gear.  

The women made sure that all traffic rules were followed by the participants by insisting that helmet, driving license etc are compulsory. They went from Manjakkara Street to Teppakulam and returned in the same route with all cheers and jubilant women culminated their rally at Terapanth Bhavan.

Nayna Parakh, President of Terapanth Mahila Mandal, Madurai, has said that 170 women had participated in this special Women’s Day rally. She expressed happiness that there was an enthusiastic participation.

Dr.Usha Kim from Arvind Eye Hospital, was the chief guest invited to flag off the two-wheeler rally.

Similar rallies were taken all over India in 400 cities with 7,000 women taking part in the Women’s Day celebrations, thanks to the initiative of Samaj.

Deepika Jain, Secretary, Terapanth Mahila Mandal- Madurai, has said that if women follow driving rules, it will be a good message for men also to spread the most important road safety message.
