Modi gifted 11 new medical colleges to TN: Union Health Minister

MADURAI: Union Health Minister Dr.Harshvardhan has said today that Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi has gifted 11 new medical colleges to Tamil Nadu and these medical colleges are coming up in aspirational districts where the poorest of the poor are looking forward for health and educational facilities. 

Talking to reporters at Madurai airport today evening- on 29th February 2020 – he said that foundation stone is being laid for new Government medical colleges in Tamil Nadu and works will be taken up at fast pace to complete the construction. 
   
Dr.Harshvardhan will participate along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.EPS in the foundation stone laying ceremony of new medical colleges being established at Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar tomorrow.

“After becoming PM for the second time, Mr.Modi decided that 75 new medical colleges will be set up in various States of the country of which 11 are sanctioned for Tamil Nadu….. I feel so happy coming to Tamil Nadu to take part in the foundation stone ‘bhoomi puja’ ceremony to be held for two colleges tomorrow…..Initial money sanctioned for these colleges and again I will come on 7th March for Nagapattinam medical college,” he said.

Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Ms.Beela Rajesh, Madurai district collector Dr.T.G.Vinay and Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan were among those who received the Union Minister Dr.Harshvardhan at Madurai airport today.
