MADURAI: Residents of Kaveri Nagar in Avaniapuram (Ward 94) here have appealed to the Madurai Corporation to take quick steps for preventing drainage water -sewage stagnation in their locality.
On 24th February 2020, the residents of Kaveri Nagar came out and demanded that the corporation authorities should visit the area and set right the drainage system and carry out works to stop water stagnation.
Residents of Kavery Nagar second street have explained their plight saying that the Madurai Corporation has not taken any action despite several complaints and giving representations to the officials.
“We are suffering a lot because of the stinking……Malaria and typhoid are common here because of this drainage -waste water stagnation…..mosquito menace is very high. We want the corporation authorities to inspect the entire area in Kaveri Nagar-Arumuga Nagar and see that drainage water from other areas do not flow to Kaveri Nagar,” residents Mr.Ravichandran and Archana Devi told reporters yesterday.
