PALANI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a rally in support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in temple town Palani in Dindigul district today- 17th February 2020.
This pro-CAA rally was organized in Palani by the Dindigul West district unit of the BJP even as the anti-CAA protests are raging at various places over the controversial CAA with public anger.
In order to explain the need for CAA and to convey the message that this Act is not against Muslims or any minorities in India as is being alleged, the BJP took out this pro-CAA awareness rally.
Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary and party spokesperson Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Dindigul West district unit president Mr.Kanagaraj, senior party leader and party’s national farmers’ wing EC member Mr.Thirumalaisamy and various other senior functionaries including Mr.Muruganandham, Harihara Muthu, city unit president Mr.Ramachandran and others participated in the rally which covered important streets in Palani town.
Placards in support of the CAA and slogans supporting this Act were the highlights of this rally for which heavy police deployment was there for security and law and order.
