MADURAI: One of the prestigious education institutions of India – Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai- today witnessed a great celebration of its alumni as its 1975-80 batch engineering graduates had their Ruby celebrations going down their memory lane by 40 years.
The students of TCE who passed out in the year 1980 spent a day out on 13th February 2020 in their alma mater campus recalling sweet memories and expressing their gratitude to their then teachers.
ALUMNI IS AN ASSET:
Mr.Karumuttu T Kannan, Chairman and Correspondent of TCE, Dr.V.Abhai Kumar, Principal and the 1975-80 batch alumni Mr.Thangavel who led the Ruby Reunion today were among those who spoke.
“We are always grateful to the TCE and our 1975-80 batch will support the present students through Alumni Experience Sharing sessions and other support to help the poor students,” Mr.Thangavel has said.
OLD AGE IS A BLESSING:
Addressing the Ruby batch old students of TCE, Mr.Karumuttu T.Kannan has said that old age is a blessing because it enables experience sharing.
“Our today’s students must get practical knowledge. When human organs can be transplanted, we can also do human experience transplant. Each person of our alumni can help our current students with their experience. The support of TCE alumni, their contribution and charitable trust activities are very noble,” he added.
Prof.M.Maria Louis, former Principal of TCE, Mr.Ramagopal, former president of the Alumni Association and others spoke. Welfare measures, handing over of cheques to corpus fund to help deserving students and those from economically weaker sections and cultural programs were among the highlights of today’s Ruby Reunion of 1975-80 batch of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai on 13th February 2020.
