TNEB workers protest in Madurai for salary dues (video)

MADURAI: The contract employees of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) today- 10th February 2020 – staged a demonstration protest before their office premises on Race Course Road here that the contract agreement/ salary arrears due to them should be paid immediately by the Tamil Nadu government.

On 10th February 2020, a demonstration was held protesting that the promised salary and agreed amount is not being paid to contract workers starting from wiremen and other works by the TNEB. “It has become a practice for a long time that the approved salary amount is not being paid to us. Despite our protests, the State government had not responded to our concerns and contract agreement,” the protestors had said.

TNEB WORKERS PLEA:

Talking to the media about their grievances today, Mr.M.Balasubramanian, TNEB Contractors Welfare Association Secretary, has said that they are not being paid the due amount or salaries based on eligibility and huge amount of dues is pending to TNEB contract workers across the State.

“Keeping our livelihood and families in mind, we request the Tamil Nadu government to pay the pending dues to contractors employees/ workers and temporary employees working in TNEB,” he added.
