Dog show in Madurai breeds kennel interest (video)

MADURAI: The all breed championship dog show organized in Madurai today by the Madurai Canine Club had given a chance for the people here to see the various beautiful dog breeds under one roof.

Even as the public were enjoying with the dogs and their great movements, the dog show president Mr.Vinayagamurthy has made an appeal that the Ramanathapuram ‘Mandhai’ dog breed which is under extinction needs patronage and protection.

AT GANDHI MUSEUM:

The 34th all breed championship dog show was conducted at Gandhi Museum ground in the city here on 9th February 2020 by the Madurai Canine Club which is affiliated to the Kennel Club of India.

Around 30 breeds of dogs including Ramanathapuram, Rajapalayam and Sippi Parai besides 200 dogs belonging to dog breeds of other countries took part in the dog show here today.

“It is our duty to protect the Ramanathapuram ‘Mandhai’ variety of dog. It protect buffaloes, goats sheep and houses in Tamil Nadu. So, we must take steps to prevent the extinction of this dog variety,” he added.
