MADURAI: Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan today made a surprise inspection at four Masi streets in the city where works are being carried under Madurai Smart City project.
On 8th February 2020, he visited East Masi, West Masi, South Masi and North Masi streets near the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here and enquired about the progress of civil works in progress.
Under the smart city mission project, Rs.45 crore allocation was done for works including underground drainage, 24X7 new drinking water connections. rainwater storm drains, underground cable wires and other works.

After inspection, he instructed the authorities and corporation officials to ensure that works are completed by the end of February in view of the upcoming Chithirai festival.
Madurai Corporation Chief Engineer Mr.Arasu, Executive Engineer Mr.Murugesa Pandian, Assistant Executive Engineer Mr.Kulandaivelu, PRO Mr.Chithravel, Assistant Engineers Mr.Kandappa and Mr.Balakrishnan, were among those present during the inspection of four Masi streets.
