MADURAI: A rally was organized today in Madurai to create awareness about National Voters Day to be celebrated on January 25th.
Students of Kakkai Padiniyar Girls Higher Secondary School at Tallakulam here participated in the rally. Teachers and other staff also took part. The objective of National Voters Day is to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process by casting their vote during elections.
Madurai Corporation Deputy Commissioner Nagajothi flagged off the awareness rally. School HM Ezhilarasi and others were present. A pledge was administered on this occasion stressing the importance of voting in a democracy.
