MADURAI: Residents of Sri Vijayalakshmi Apartments at D.R.O.Colony in Madurai today celebrated ‘Pongal’ festival in their campus with men, women and children collectively enjoying the ‘Pongalo Pongal’ festivities.
Listening to devotional songs, Pongal related music and popular numbers, a group of women prepared sweet pongal in a traditional manner which is an important part of this thanks-giving harvest festival.
‘SAMATHUVA PONGAL’:
A team of association office-bearers of Sri Vijayalakshmi Apartments led by president Mr.K.Thiagarajan, secretary Mr.M.G.Baskaran, treasurer Mr.P.S.Nagarajan and joint secretary Mr.T.Murugu Ilakkuvan made arrangements for ‘Samathuva Pongal 2020’ celebrations held on 12th January 2020.
Mr.D.Siva Pragasam, a senior person in the apartment, started the prayer by rendering a few devotional lines. At the end, all participants had lunch together and it was a harvest of happiness for all those who took part in this festive event.
