MADURAI: For the world famous event – Alanganallur Jallikattu – which takes place on 17th January 2020, the process of issuing tokens (registration) and conducting medical tests for bull tamers was held today 10th January.
For 700 participants, registration tokens are being issued since morning after completing due procedures at Government elementary school in Alanganallur near here. According to authorities, there will be restricted participation in view of safety and the bull-tamers who want to take part in jallikattu must be in the age group of 21 years to 40 years.
A special medical team from Government Primary Health Centre at Alanganallur led by Dr.Valarmathi is doing medical check-up for those who want to participate. Only those who were found fit were given tokens under the supervision of Revenue Department authorities.
