MADURAI: Amidst colourful and vibrating performances by junior school students, an inspiring message about tall leaders was sent out to students and parents by the Chairman of Queen Mira International School (QMIS) in Madurai, Dr.C.Chandran, from the grand stage of school’s 9th annual day celebrations held here on 20th December 2019.
“From the history of great Abraham Lincoln to our former CBI Director Mr.D.R.Kaarthikeyan, the clear message is that schools and teachers play the most important role in shaping our children’s future….Always remember that school syllabus is only limited. Our learning in education process must go beyond textbook syllabus,” Dr.Chandran said in his welcome address at Junior School (KG-G3) annual day event held at Kochadai in Madurai city.
MAN OF INTEGRITY:
Describing the former Central Bureau of Investigation Director Mr.D.R.Kaarthikeyan as a man of principles, values and integrity, he said that the method in which the killers of former Prime Minister Mr.Rajiv Gandhi were identified by thorough investigation shows Mr.Kaarthikeyan’s high ability and professionalism.
“He was offered Governor post…..but he said no. Mr.Kaarthikeyan wanted to be in public service constantly with his vast experience…..We are proud of having him as chief guest today,” said Dr.C.Chandran.
He lauded the role being played by QMIS Managing Director Mr.Abinath Chandran and Director (Academics) Sujatha Guptan for their relentless efforts to make the school top class along with school’s teaching staff for the past nine years.
“From 40 students nine years ago when we started, our QMIS student strength rose to 900 today…..We are already a member of Council of International Schools (CIS) and out goal is to further step up the academic momentum,” the Chairman said. Mr.R.Thiruchenthuran, President, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Vision 2020, Tamil Nadu, was the special guest for this 9th annual day mega event named as ‘Sangamam’ – an amalgamation of arts- carrying the theme ‘celebrating womanhood’.
