MADURAI: The Hindu Temple Federation has made a stinging attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu calling it as ‘B’ team of Dravidian parties DMK and AIADMK because the BJP leaders in this State have failed to stop the G.O. issued against Hindu temples’ properties.
An urgent meeting of the Hindu Temple Federation is taking place at Koyambedu in Chennai today (3rd November 2019) to discuss action plan for launching a people’s movement to save Hindu temples, Hindu temple lands, Hindu temple properties, ancient idols etc.

WHY IS BJP NOT AGGRESSIVE IN T.N.:

Mr.V.Sivaji, Convener, Hindu Temple Federation, told ‘Lotus Times’ over phone today that it is very disappointing that the BJP in Tamil Nadu dis not take up fiercely the issue of protecting the properties / lands of Hindu temples.

“Who gave the right to distribute or sell the properties of Hindu temples? Why is the BJP silent in Tamil Nadu? Saving Hindu temples should become a mass movement and our Hindu Temple Federation will not be silent on this……Whether we are in BJP or in any other party, we are Hindus first….Can the Government play with properties of Muslim mosques or Christian Churches,” Mr.Sivaji asked.

ABOLISH AND SCRAP THE HR & CE DEPT:

The Hindu Temple Federation had demanded that Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) should be scrapped and abolished in Tamil Nadu because it had failed to protect temple properties and failed to be custodian of Hindu temples.

“In today’s meeting, we will work out a strategy to intensify our agitation to make Tamil Nadu Government withdraw the dangerous anti-Hindu G.O……How can you distribute temple lands to encroachers? We will also demand that the temple Boards should be headed by spiritual persons and eminent persons must be made Board members in all Hindu temples. Political appointments are causing danger to Hindu temples,” the Hindu Temple Federation convener, has said.

This newly formed Federation which is functioning from Chennai has 200 members coming from various walks of life and those who held high positions, he added.
