CHENNAI: Following a complaint lodged by a Tamil Nadu BJP leader, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on Tuesday has ordered for a thorough probe into the allegations that DMK’s mouthpiece Tamil daily newspaper ‘Murasoli’ in Chennai was built on ‘panchami’ land meant for SCs.
The Commission took quick action on the petition submitted by Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan in New Delhi on October 22nd 2019 and within hours it has asked the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary to submit facts within seven days about that particular piece of land allegedly encroached by DMK’s ‘Murasoli’.
AS PER CONSTITUTION OF INDIA:
Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan met NCSC VIce-Chairman Mr.L.Murugan in New Delhi on October 22nd 2019 and made a plea to him to order for a probe into the ‘Murasoli’ land grabbing issue in Chennai which has become a political hot topic now.
“Everyone knows that ‘Panchami’ land is meant for distribution to people of Scheduled Castes and it cannot be sold…..Now. with this notice issued by National Commission for Scheduled Castes, it is for the DMK and Murasoli to come out clean and prove themselves that they are not guilty,” the BJP leader told ‘Lotus Times’ from Delhi over phone today.
He observed that the DMK cannot hide the facts anymore since ‘we all know how we take Encumbrance Certificate (EC) when we buy a piece of land. So how can the DMK claim innocence?’
“When people have doubts about ‘Murasoli’ newspaper’s land, it is for the DMK to explain. Right now they have a taint that the land on which ‘Murasoli’ is situated is ‘panchami’ land, and was encorached. So, tell us the truth,” Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan added.
