Skills, sweets go together in this Dindigul college

DINDIGUL: The festival of lights Deepavali 2019 has come and it is time for sweets. It will be sweets everywhere and students of this college in Dindigul in Tamil Nadu are going to show their skills in preparation of sweets.   
Students of Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science of G.T.N.Arts College in Dindigul are getting geared up to showcase the ‘preparation of traditional Tamil sweets’ on 25th October 2019 Friday in their training kitchen ‘Guru’ in college campus here.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT:

Chef M.S.Rajmohan, Head, Department of Hotel Management, said today that the prime objective of having this program is for skill development of students pursuing hotel management course.
Chef M.Vimal Glaston, Restaurant Consultant Chef, Karunaas in Rathina Vilas, Dindigul, will demonstrate preparation of traditional Tamil sweets and college students will learn the procedure.
“For this year’s traditional Tamil sweets preparation session, we have chosen ‘Thothal’, ‘Kambu Halwa’ and ‘Mettukudi Pudding’. Students will come to know about sweetening agents, using of millets and coconut oil for preparing some varieties of sweets…..Mr.Vimal Glaston will prepare and tell us about these three good sweet items,” said Mr.M.S.Rajmohan.
The college is holding this programme as an entrepreneurship development initiative for enhancing students’ skills.
