MADURAI: He is cooking his own success. In culinary, he was recognized as exemplary. He is teaching recipes to his students and now he became a recipe of success.
Mr.M.S.Rajmohan, Culinary Educator and Head, Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science at G.T.N.Arts College in Dindigul, was one among the recipients of ‘Kalams Golden Awards’ at an event held in Chennai on October 20th 2019 Sunday.
COOKING MARATHON RECORD:
The choice of Mr.Rajmohan (now 34 years age) as Kalams Golden Award recipient which is to recognize the achievements by individuals in their respective fields, has come after his 14 years of good extensive work in culinary field. In the category of culinary education, he got this recognition and he received the ‘Best Chef of the Year Kalams Golden Award 2019.’
“Being a culinary educator is my passion…. I was the longest solo cooking awardee after having done this feat for 48 hours at Poppys Hotel in Madurai in December 2016. That marathon in Madurai took me to Limca Book etc…. And today I am delighted to make an entry to receive Kalams Golden Award… And Kalam sir is an inspiration to every Indian,” Mr.Rajmohan had shared his experience to ‘Lotus Times’ website on October 21st 2019.
CULINARY TEACHING:
The Limca and Kalam award recipient has made a record of sorts virtually from the day he passed out from college.
“I studied B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science in Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science in Madurai, and then did my M.Sc. in Tourism and Hospitality Management from MKU….My passion is culinary teaching and a citation in the name of great Kalam is a proud moment for me. I dedicate this to youth of this country for whom former President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam is still a motivating force,” Mr.Rajmohan says.
Besides being a culinary teacher to his college students, he is also a Junior Forum Coordinator of South India Chefs Association (SICA).
