MADURAI: The contributions and achievements of BJP senior leader Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan as a MP and Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping along with other portfolios, were explained by Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Dr.R.Srinivasan during a TV debate of popular news channel ‘Puthiya Thalaimurai’ conducted on May 30th 2019.
“As MP of Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency, Mr.Ponnar worked for whole Tamil Nadu single-handedly as lone Central Minister in Modi Cabinet from 2014-19 from our State. His mark was very clear and visible in several aspects. He not only brought investments to the tune of Rs.40,000-crore worth projects for his constituency, he also played a key role for getting AIIMS to Madurai and like that several other things,” explained Dr.Srinivasan while arguing for BJP senior Ponnaar’s contribution to Tamil Nadu.

Another important achievement of Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan as Union Minister from Tamil Nadu was his proactive role in getting a positive notification for conducting ‘Jallikattu’ and this notification by the Central government had stopped the youth protests in our State, the BJP State Secretary pointed out.
For ‘Narikuravu’ community ST status in Parliament, for Rameswaram fishermen issues, for Neduvasal and for Yadava community people’s demand for Alagumuthu Kone stamp by postal department, the Thoothukudi port development issues and the four-lane highway works going on in southern districts , Union Minister of State Pon.Radhakrishnan played important role and that has to be realized by political parties and people in Tamil Nadu, the BJP spokesperson argued.
“ELECTIONS AND POLITICS ARE DIFFERENT”
“Mr. Ponnaar worked as Union Minister for entire Tamil Nadu. Political agenda is different from election agenda….Sri Lankan Tamils’ welfare / rehabilitation issue is an example of how some parties are playing politics in Tamil Nadu during election time. That has to be understood,” the Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary – Madurai Zonal In-Charge and party spokesperson Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan had countered the panel members in the TV debate on May 30th 2019.
