MADURAI: Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi is visiting Andhra Pradesh on May 2nd 2025 to extend his support to the upcoming world class capital city Amaravati as is being visualized by AP Chief Minister Mr.Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

According to sources, the Chief Minister had invited Mr.Modi to visit Amaravati and thereby give a moral push and support to the State’s capital which is being constructed by the Chandrababu Naidu government on several thousands of acres of land which was voluntarily contributed by the farmers in that area.

“The Prime Minister is in all probability coming to Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati on May 2nd 2025. The capital project was ignored by the previous Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party government. Now that the NDA is back in power, Amaravati gets a massive boost and ofcourse our Chief Minister Mr.Chandrababu Naidu has a vision to build a world class international level standards capital for our State. So, Mr.Modi’s visit will energize the capital city project and speed up the works because Mr.Modi’s government at the Centre is also giving funding support to AP capital city Amaravati. Our Chief Minister who was behind the Hyderabad growth as Hi-Tech city is now determined to make Amaravati as one of the best cities in India with all amenities of international standards,” sources said after the Andhra Pradesh Government cabinet meeting on April 15th 2025.

The PM’s visit to Andhra Pradesh gives a push to his South Connect in a big way because the NDA and BJP are focused on southern States right now in a big way and Mr.Modi’s visit to Andhra Pradesh’s under construction capital city of Amaravati next month is taking place within days of Union Home Minister Mr.Amit Shah’s visit to Chennai on April 11th 2025 where he had formalized political alliance with AIADMK for the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu scheduled to take place in April 2026.

Andhra Pradesh is a crucial State for the BJP because Telugu Desam and Jana Sena Party are crucial partners in the NDA alliance right now. Farmers in Amaravati area had given their land (about 34,000 acres already) voluntarily for the capital city development plan when the Telugu Desam Party came to power in the year 2014 and that land is now getting life under Mr.Naidu’s mega city plan.
