“We know that actor Rajinikanth had a surgery in a Chennai hospital last year. This surgery is also same and similar to that. Our patient is now normal and coming for follow-up. This is called endovascular repair and the this advanced EVAR technique in our hospital has a significant advantage because only local anesthesia was given. The medical team sued specialized closure devices at the groin entry points. The senior citizen patient completed his three-months followup. He is now normal,” the medical team told reporters at the press meet on February 28th 2025.
Dr.Sivakumar and Dr.Prabhu said that the patient came to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and after through diagnosis it was found that he had a dangerous bulge in his abdominal aorta, a bulge that was quite large measuring 7.2 cms.
“Thanks to the advanced treatment facilities available at our Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital in Madurai, a precise endovascular repair was done successfully,” Dr.Prabhu added.
