Faculty development sessions at NAAS College in Madurai on December 3rd 2024 for higher education quality teaching.

MADURAI: The importance of enhancing higher education teaching quality was stressed at a faculty development program organized by Nagarathinam Angalammal Arts and Science College in Madurai (near Madurai airport) today- December 3rd 2024.

Faculty members of the college were given a thorough awareness on “Role of NAAC in Higher Education” and the significance of National Assessment and Accreditation Council in enhancing the quality of higher education.

Dr.S.Theenathayalan, Syndicate Member, Madurai Kamaraj University and associate professor and Head of Department of Economics at Madura College, was the chief guest and he stressed on the need for higher education institutions to focus on teaching quality, research and community engagement to achieve NAAC accreditation.

Dr.N.Jegatheesan, college Secretary, had highlighted the commitment of NAAS to quality education and its efforts to achieve NAAC accreditation.

Principal Dr.V.Vasanthakumar in his welcome address emphasized the importance of accreditation for academic excellence while IQAC coordinator Mr.Kalaiselvan had proposed a vote of thanks.

About 60 faculty members from various departments had attended this Faculty Development Programme at Nagarathinam Angalammal Arts and Science College in Madurai today- December 3rd 2024-by taking part in sessions and interactive discussions to know more about NAAC accreditation process, according to a press release here today evening.
