A poor people’s hospital near Madurai with 80G looks for support of donors and doctors: The humble appeal from AL-WARA

MADURAI: A hospital which was started near Madurai as a public service initiative to provide medical care for the needy people at a very nominal charge is now looking up to some good Samaritans in the form of donors and doctors who could help sustain the cause for which it was opened.

Yes, its appeal sounds very genuine because it is reaching out to the poor people. The AL-WARA Hospital which is located before the Melur tollgate and opposite to Hotel Temple City, at Kathapatti near Madurai is making a healthy impact in that area ever since it was founded in the year 2022 at a time when the Covid pandemic was threatening and immediate healthcare was the focal point.

“Our Gausiya Foundation in Madurai launched Al-wara Hospital for a purpose. It is located at Kathapatty pallivasal campus very near to Madurai-Melur tollgate. At a very low charges, we are providing low cost medical treatment and poor people from 30 villages in that area are getting benefited. In fact, we are also giving free treatment to patients for the very poor families that cannot afford,” Mr.A.G.Mohamed Ashraf Gani Sayani, founder-chairman, Al-Wara Hospital, told ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai on November 25th 2024.

WHAT IT NEEDS NOW?

The Gausiya Foundation’s 15,000 sq ft Al-wara Hospital is a 22-bedded facility located on 50 cents of land and it has a well-equipped 525 sq ft operation theatre.

“Our doctors and staff are working with a service mind. We are attending OP cases and doing surgeries. If there is resources support, the hospital will be able to reach out to more people. In that area, this Al-Wara Hospital is performing hernia operations, laparoscopy, piles, appendicitis, diabetic foot-wound surgery and circumcision for Muslims. From this hospital, we are working with a noble mission. No fees from patients is our motto and hence doctor consultation is free. We are also ready to give our operation theatre to other doctors also to carry out the surgeries. Our request to the public is their support to expand the coverage of this hospital because for poor people we are giving almost 50 per cent concession,” Mr.Mohamed Ashraf Gani Sayani has said.

JOIN HANDS WITH US:

The CEO of Al-wara Hospital Mr.Abdul Gani, who is an architect by profession, is also very much involved in the running of this medical care facility to achieve the goal with which it was launched two years ago for the poor.

“We have the 80G income tax exemption so that donors and philanthropists can join our mission from Madurai. If retired doctors who want to serve the community join hands with us, it will give good results for the poor people. Donors support is important now to meet the monthly expenses. The Gausiya Foundation which was started in the year 2003 is committed to help the poor and this hospital runs as a non-profit philanthropic project. Those who are looking for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) avenues are most welcome and we hope to get more support of donors and doctors,” Mr.Abdul Gani said.
