MADURAI: The Higher Education Department of Government of Tamil Nadu has sent an important directive to the Registrars of all universities under its aegis to introduce and implement ‘BIOMETRIC ATTENDANCE MARKING SYSTEM’ for its staff to ensure prompt attendance for duty.
The staff of all universities- both teaching and non-teaching staff- shall record their presence on the biometric equipment at the time of entry into office and exit at the close of the day.
A communication to this effect was sent to the Registrars of all universities under the aegis of Higher Education Department on November 13th 2024, by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, to ensure proper availability of staff in the universities during working hours, official sources said and sent a copy of the Government direction sent to the Registrars of all State universities.
