MADURAI: Students and colleges are having a very tough time during the ongoing semester exams in Madurai region as the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here did not send question papers in time to the exam centres and its affiliated colleges.
Reliable sources told ‘Lotus Times’ media on November 19th 2024 that students had to wait for nearly hours in more than 50 exam centres just waiting for the question papers while the colleges could not start the exam at the scheduled time.
“Anxious and worried colleges were sending urgent messages to MKU officials to send the question papers which are sent online to the exam centres. There was total negligence from varsity authorities and the students who are writing the November 2024 semester exams of MKU had to sit anxiously while the colleges were pleading the university examination wing to send question papers without delay,” sources said here today and they raised questions why the university is unable to send the question papers in time when the examination schedule was prepared well in advance.
CENTRES THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED:
A few examples of the bungling that took place in the last one week are available with ‘Lotus Times’ to show how the delay took place in send the question papers to the given email ID of the colleges and exam centres.
The exam centre code 250 waited for long for M.Sc question paper in energy and drug metabolism while centre code 228 MKU Evening College had not received the subject code TENPT22 on November 18th afternoon.
“Students are waiting here for the questions. Kindly send in time,” was the message sent to MKU from exam centre 643 for auditing paper questions. In centre code 607, the Madurai Gandhi NMR Subbaraman College for Women had not received two questions on November 18th 2024 for subject code TENPT22 and SCSPA21.
Like this, several exam centres with centre code 627 and 603 had to send a email from Dindigul for the afternoon exam while exam centre 205 GAC Melur has sent an urgent communication to the university exam wing that they had not recieved question papers for five exams on time. The same waiting took place at centre code 648 from Kottur and also from centre code 646 saying that they did not receive the question papers.
“Colleges are literally pleading with the MKU authorities urging them to be fast in send the question papers. Messages went from Aruppukottai, Sivakasi, Oddanchatram, Theni, Aundipatti and Tiruchuli too stating that they did not receive the question papers for several dates and subjects. The university should send the question papers as per the schedule in time. But MKU had failed to do that for the current semester exams that are going on now in its affiliated colleges. If the exam is supposed to start at 10 am, the colleges received question papers at 11 am and after that the copies had to be taken….There was a total mess up in the last one week,” sources added.
