MADURAI: AIADMK leader and Thirumangalam MLA Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has today urged the Madurai District Collector to to quick steps for laying a quality service road at the place where railway over bridge works are going on right now in Tirumangalam here.
“I am making this appeal on behalf of the residents of Tirumangalam area. There must be a quality tar road as a service lane for the convenience of local people and smooth plying of vehicles without any accidents. There should an immediate attention for Tirumangalam-Madurai airport road where railway bridge work is going on at a very snail place for the past six months,” Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has said in a letter to Madurai District Collector here on November 4th 2024.
The AIADMK leader, who is also the Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, had pointed out that road accidents are taking place on Thirumangalam to Madurai airport road because of several potholes and poor quality of the existing road where rail bridge work is underway presently.
“School children, school vehicles and cyclists are facing severe threat daily on this poor quality road. In fact, two women had died at that place because of bad roads….There is an urgency for good tar road/service lane in Tirumangalam to Madurai airport road because the rail bridge completion will take another two years if it goes at the same snail place,” Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has said and urged the Madurai District Collector M.S.Sangeetha to direct the concerned officials to lay service road immediately in the interest of public safety.
