Governor directs Vice-Chancellors to hold convocations from August to October every year without delay in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Governor and Chancellor Mr.R.N.Ravi has today directed the Vice-Chancellors to ensure that convocations for all State universities are held in the months of August, September and October in the coming years.

“This proactive approach facilitates graduates in promptly receiving their degree certificates immediately after examination results, and allowing them to seize opportunities without delay. Notably, this is the first time this year convocations for 19 State universities in Tamil Nadu have been completed before the end of October and this is highlighting Raj Bhavan’s commitment to empowering students as they get transition into their careers,” a press release issued by Raj Bhavan-Tamil Nadu, has said today- on November 3rd 2024.

The Raj Bhavan press statement has informed that the Governor-Chancellor Mr.R.N.Ravi had attended and completed the convocations of 19 State universities and awarded degrees to 7,918 students in person while 8,20,072 students received their degrees (UG, PG, Doctoral degrees and Doctor of Science) in absentia.

Over all, 8,27,990 graduates had received their degrees across the 19 State universities and the only remaining institution for convocation is Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University-Chennai where it will be held on November 20th 2024, the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan press release from the Governor-Chancellor had informed today- on November 3rd 2024.
