MADURAI: For the lakhs of people who attended the first massive State-level political rally of actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and for those who watched ‘Thalapathy’s sensational high-pitch debut speech on television sets on October 27th 2024, this face at the mike will be familiar.
The woman who compered the much awaited political event of Tamil Nadu politics on that big day could get that special chance just because of her passion for Tamil language, the love for writing lyrics and of course her admiration towards actor Vijay.
Yes. The lucky lady who was asked to do the task on that big day was Ms.M.Durga Devi (known as Kavibharathi Durga) from Madurai whose life journey began from Kariapatti in Virudhunagar district and now went upto Vikravandi near Villupuram. She is a highly qualified professional coming from engineering background, did her B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering and M.E. in Communication Systems.
NOW ON 3 MONTHS MATERNITY LEAVE:
Little did Mrs.M.Durga Devi expect that will get a call to be on that huge dais along with TVK supremo actor Vijay and other few top leaders.
“I gave my profile to some leaders of TVK by giving particulars to them about how I love my mother tongue great Tamil language, my work as a woman for various public and social issues, my focus on skill development etc. I posted my updates on social media. I attended a meeting of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam at Salem just before this huge Vikravandi conference. Loyola Mani sir and others came to know about my Tamil talent and just two weeks back Loyola sir informed me that I will speak at the historic Vikravandi political rally and TVK conference,” an elated Ms.Durga Devi told ‘Lotus Times’ media while speaking over phone on November 1st 2024.
Her joy knew no bounds when she called actor Vijay to address the mammoth crowd on that turning point evening “and at the end Vijar sir and other leaders appreciated me and I am thankful to them for giving me a huge chance to go straight to the big stage on that important day October 27th 2024.”
Ms.Durga Devi loves teaching profession very much because she is a B.E. passed out in 2017 and M.E. passed out in 2019 from Sethu Institute of Technology near Madurai and it is situated at Kariapatti from where she comes.
“I am now on maternity leave and we are all happy that we named our newborn child as Deva Karnika….At a time when our entire family is in a celebrating mood and mode, I got the Vikravandi chance. It is a double happy bonanza and my future work will be stepped up for Tamil language and writing,” Mrs.Durga Devi- Kavibharathi Durga- who studied at PKN School in Thirumangalam and now connected to Nagercoil also through her husband and in-laws, says on a satisfactory note while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ website in Madurai yesterday.
