MADURAI: Ashes of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee were immersed in Vaigai river in the temple city of Madurai on August 26th 2018 Sunday at 11 a.m.
The urn carrying the ashes of Vajpayeeji was brought to Madurai as a part of ‘ASTHI KALASH YATRA’ being taken out across the country by BJP for the late leader who passed away on August 16th 2018.
It was taken in a procession in a decked up vehicle to enable the people of Madurai to pay their respects.

A large gathering of people in Madurai turned up to pay homage respects and tributes to Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee after which the ashes were immersed in the holy waters of river Vaigai in Madurai city.
BJP leaders including Tamil Nadu State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan (Madurai Zone in-charge), State vice-president Mr.S.Surendran, Women’s wing State president Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi, senior leader Mr.M.R.Gandhi, Madurai city unit president Mr.Saseeraman and Madurai rural district president Mr.Maha Suseendhran, along with party functionaries took part in the rituals and paid respects amidst the chant of BHARAT MATHA KI JAI…..
