MADURAI: A special cleanliness campaign is underway in Southern Railway Madurai Division with fortnight long ‘Swachhata’ focus in railway premises, nearby areas and railway tracks where a mass cleanliness drive is being carried out from September 17th to October 2nd 2024 as per the directive of Ministry of Railways.
As a part of this cleanliness campaign, a special ‘Swachhata Marathon’ was organized in Madurai and it was flagged off by Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Sharad Srivastava from the DRM office premises here, a press release has informed today-September 19th 2024.
Students from Railway Higher Secondary School and SRWWO School had participated in the marathon and among those who were present at the flagging off include Divisional Personnel Officer Mr.T.Sankaran, Divisional Environment and Housekeeping Manager K.Gundewar Badal along with branch officers and railway staff.
The ‘Swachchata Pakhwada’ is a cleanliness drive by the railways at all railway offices, railway depots, stations and trains etc. On September 17th 2024, the DRM Mr.Sharad Srivastava had administered ‘Swachhata’ pledge to the staff.
