MADURAI: Teachers Day is being celebrated across India today- on September 5th 2024- as a mark of respect to the teaching fraternity from schools to colleges to universities who taught life lessons to children from KG to PG level.
But, unfortunately, the Teachers Day on September 5th 2024 at Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai was totally different as teaching faculty had gathered for their basic demand- just asking for their monthly salary. The same is for non-teaching staff, all administrative wing employees, part-time employees and casual workers-temporary staff etc.
A public appeal has come from the Madurai Kamaraj University in Madurai today urging for the quick intervention and help of Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin to save MKU and its staff who were not paid their last two months’ salary by the Tamil Nadu due to financial constraints and citing audit report objections that took place many years ago.
