On May 3rd 2018, Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman held a review meeting with officials and district administration of Virudhunagar district which was identified as ASPIRATIONAL DISTRICT by the Central government. She is in-charge of this district’s progress and development.
About 70 families of Adi Dravidar Colony in Seshapuram have been living without power supply for the past 25 years. They made several representations to State government authorities but of no avail.
When the people’s hardships were brought to her attention at the review meeting, the Union Defence Minister immediately spoke to district Collector and other authorities concerned to take swift action for providing electricity supply to this little hamlet where school students in particular are facing difficulty for studies.
LONG WAIT FOR LIGHT:
The Electricity Board staff swung into action and in the first round two houses already got electricity supply as current poles came up and the basic works have been completed to cover all the houses soon.
The local people are happy as their long wait for light had ended and they thanked Union Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman for her help.
