MADURAI: The life of Nobel Laureate George Bernard Shaw is an inspiration to all and we should learn from his life because he was not only a prolific writer, a great playwright and an exceptional speaker but also a renowned personality known for his candour in expressing his thoughts and ability to use sarcasm, noted author and Managing Director of British Lingua Dr.Birbal Jha has said.
“George Bernard Shaw’s ideas have not only served as an inspiration for his literary works, but have also been the subject of corporate management studies. We should learn and take inspiration from his life as his works are celebrated for its blend of social criticism and comedic brilliance thereby setting him apart from his contemporaries,” Dr.Birbal Jha had stressed.
He was speaking at a special seminar on ‘Let’s Learn from Nobel Laureate George Bernard Shaw’ which was organized at British Lingua in Patna (capital city of Bihar) on July 26th 2024 to mark his birth anniversary.
EDUCATION IS TO INSPIRE STUDENTS:
Dr.Birbal Jha had pointed out that Nobel Prize winner George Bernard Shaw had advocated for educational reform by firmly believing that traditional education often stifled creativity and critical thinking.
“Shaw’s educational philosophy was rooted in his belief that education should not merely transmit knowledge but also inspire and challenge students to think critically about their world. He was an outspoken proponent of more progressive education system that would foster foster independent thought and a deeper understanding of social issues. One of the most notable achievements is his “Shavian” play which often combined elements of satire, social commentary and wit,” Dr.Birbal Jha said while addressing the students of British Lingua, an institute of international recognition for English communication skills.
GREATEST PLAYWRIGHT OF 19th and 20th CENTURIES:
Prof.Shailendra Mishra from the Department of English at AN College in Patna has said that Bernard Shaw was the greatest playwright of 19th and 20th centuries and his works created a great attraction among the masses for his plays.

Pune-based prominent columnist and author Oxonian Sumit Paul will be presented with Nobel Laureate George Bernard Shaw Award 2024 later this year at a function to be held in Delhi, the press release from British Lingua has informed at the seminar held in Patna on July 26th 2024 where Prof.Shailendra Misra and media personality Devendra Misra were presented with special citations on the occasion of George Bernard Shaw’s birth anniversary, who was born on 26th July 1856 and breathed his last on 2nd November 1950.
