FOR HINDUISM AND INDIA, GREAT SOUL SISTER NIVEDITA

MADURAI: Born in Ireland in the year 1867 as Margaret Noble, Sister Nivedita became a Great Soul of Hinduism and India as disciple of Swami Vivekananda by making India her home.
 
Though she lived only for 44 years, Sister Nivedita (1867 – 1911) had influenced millions of Indians with her service and spirituality combined with an influencing personality in her thoughts and action.
 
Swami Kamalatmananda, President of Sri Ramakrishna Math in Madurai and Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary, along with a large number of students, followers and public, participated in the ‘Sister Nivedita Rath Yatra’ took out to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sister Nivedita at Ramakrishna Math in Madurai on January 28th 2018.
 
Her dedication for India, her contributions to Hinduism, the role as a patriot, aggressive Hinduism that Sister Nivedita voiced for, the role to get equal rights for women, Bharathiyar’s special mention about this great disciple of Swami Vivekananda and how she became a role model with blend of patriotic personality and spirituality, were explained by Swami Kamalatmananda and Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan.
 
RATH YATRA – MADURAI:
 
 
On January 28th 2018, the specially decorated rath went around various places in Madurai. It will cover more than 25 districts in Tamil Nadu taking the message of Sister Nivedita and her contributions to the general public.
 
“I compliment the good work done by yatra coordinator from Madurai Mrs.Damayanthi Manivannan with the help of her team members and Ramakrishna Math here……She worked very hard for more than a month for this Rath Yatra arrangements…..The public interest for success of this Rath Yatra is very good……”, Prof.Dr.Srinivasan has said.
 
The State Women’s Wing president of BJP Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi and others were present at the event.
