MADURAI: The sudden resignation of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Vice-Chancellor Prof.J.Kumar a few days back in May 2024 by citing his health grounds has given shock to the varsity employees, but now raised a few questions also at the same time because the Vice-Chancellor had quit leaving his one year VC tenure at this prestigious university in India. Why?
“There is a ‘CHINNAMMA’ in our Madurai Kamaraj University…..Two women faculty in MKU were competing to get to the VC attention…..as a professional, they pressured him to give post and accommodate them at a senior level position. But suddenly we heard in MKU campus a year back that there is a ‘Chinnamma’. It went to a personal level we heard…..But we know the Vice-Chancellor is a very sincere person. Maybe because of this talk, we were informed that the Vice-Chancellor’s very concerned wife had insisted the VC to quit because Prof.J.Kumar is a person of integrity and top acumen, and he already undergone a heart surgery in Madurai. But, two women are there in MKU who tried to take over the VC by influencing him….We don’t know who they are….but there is a ‘CHINNAMMA in MKU campus. We were told,” a few employees of MKU told ‘Lotus Times’ media on May 15th 2024.
